We understand that brand protection is a key part of your business and if the brand is compromised through fraud, piracy and brand counterfeiting it can cause immeasurable damage to your brand and company.
Omega Investigations have undertaken many brand and counterfeit investigations. Phil Jones is qualified as an expert counterfeit investigator for one of the largest organisations in the world. The training is specific and unique and we are able to identify the difference between genuine and counterfeit products through anti counterfeiting technology
Grey Marketing
Grey marketing is where the product is genuine but is imported through unauthorised channels. As an example there could be a contract prohibiting its sale in a certain global jurisdiction or it has been imported through an entity that does not have a license to sell in that particular jurisdiction.
Test Purchase Programmes
Our investigators are adept at posing as customers and undertaking ‘test purchases’ to identify and purchase counterfeit goods on sale. We will document our visit evidentially, take photographs, exhibit and obtain the counterfeit product for later scrutiny and if possible prosecution. We can work with Customs on your behalf to facilitate major anti-counterfeiting investigations and prevent importation.
Our investigators undertook the largest counterfeit prosecution in New Zealand when we used a variety of techniques including test purchases, surveillance and database searches to prepare a file for the New Zealand Police. The offenders were prosecuted.
